Castle Street Hospital for Women proudly organized a vibrant and informative Medical Exhibition for the public as part of the hospital’s 75th Anniversary Celebrations, marking a significant milestone in its long-standing service to the nation in maternal and women’s healthcare.
The Medical Exhibition was held from 12th to 14th February 2026, from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. each day, with the objective of commemorating 75 years of dedicated healthcare service, while strengthening public awareness on maternal health, women’s wellness, newborn care, nutrition, breastfeeding, family planning, and preventive medicine. The event featured a range of educational stalls, live demonstrations, and interactive sessions conducted by hospital staff, allowing visitors to engage directly with healthcare teams and obtain reliable health information in a friendly and supportive environment.
The main opening ceremony of the exhibition, also organized in line with the 75th celebration of the hospital, was ceremonially inaugurated by the Hon. Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa. His presence highlighted the national importance of strengthening public health education and maternal care services. Addressing the gathering, the Minister appreciated the hospital’s continued commitment to providing quality healthcare and expanding community outreach initiatives.
The event was attended by hospital administrators, medical specialists, nursing staff, invited guests, and members of the public. The programme included the official opening, a tour of the exhibition stalls, and interactions with staff and visitors.
This successful exhibition and ceremony reflect the ongoing dedication of Castle Street Hospital for Women to enhance public awareness, strengthen community engagement, and promote healthier futures for mothers, children, and families across Sri Lanka, while proudly celebrating 75 years of excellence in healthcare service.
